Willie was the youngest child born to Major Jefferson and Ethel Lee Dunn on September 30, 1947 in Tallapoosa County. He graduated from Laurel High School in Alexander City, Al in 1967 where he played football and basketball. After graduating high school he moved to Poughkeepsie, New York residing with his Sister until he was drafted into the United States Army. After the military, he returned to Poughkeepsie where he worked at Western Publishing. Willie was also a cook and held several jobs in that position. He met and married Juanita Williams in 1972 and to this union, one child was born. He later moved to Lakeland, FL., and from there Willie came to live in Alabama, where he lived until his death.
He was preceded in death by his father, Major Dunn; mother, Ethel Lee Dunn; brothers, Jimmy Dunn, Alveston Dunn, and Johnny Lee Dunn; sisters, Essie Mae Blue, Inell Dunn, and Pastor Smithie Lee Graham, who cared for him for twenty years.
He leaves to mourn his daughter, Lisa Marie Dunn; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Mother Ola Traylor and Apostle W. T. Traylor; several nieces and nephews. A very special niece and care giver, Ms. Wanda Faye Graham, who cared for him after the passing of his Sister, and caregiver, Mr. Wayne Blue.
