....And God said “Let us make man in our own likeness”.....So God created man in his own image....And God saw everything was good.... the Lord God Formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of Life; and man become a living soul!....
On September 23, 1943 in Coosa County, Alabama Ocie became a living soul to the parents of Ocie Tom Hoyett Sr. and Minnie Ola Hoyett. He was one of five children born to this union. His parents, brother Henry Lewis Hoyett and sister-in-law Ruby Hoyett proceeded him in death.
Ocie accepted Christ as his personal Savior.
He loved cars, his hats, ice cream and more than anything a good laugh. Although he kept to himself a lot, Ocie loved spending time with his grandchildren. Every time he’d come around, he would have a little "pocket change" for them. His grandchildren were the key to his heart. Ocie will be dearly missed.
On Tuesday, March 17, 2020 God whispered Ocie, my child job well done, come home to rest.
Ocie leaves to cherish his memory: his four loving children, Mrs. Teresa (Bruce) Ray of Waverly, Al., Melissa Darby of Chicago, IL., Antoinette Maxell (Toni), and George Alexander Phillip both of Alexander City, Al.: two sisters Ola Mae (TJ) Hoyett and Corrine (Billy) Hill. of Alexander, Al. and one brother Rebuin Hoyett of Alexander City, Al: nine grandchildren Brittany and Chantal Ray of Montgomery, Al., Christian Ray of Waverly, Al., Bryana Smith, Brooklyn and Brandi Rimes of Chicago, Il, Zachariah Mitchell, LaDorsha and Jasmine Tucker of Alexander City, Al: six great-grand children Amari, Kylie, RaeLynn, Jaliyana, Jaziyah and Elijah: Nieces, Meka, Na'ahinee, Rasheda, Kimberly: nephews, Jumaane, Devin, Grady.
