Ms. Patricia Goosby Obituary

A reflection of life for our Nana

Today we celebrate the transition of this beautiful woman of God from earth to glory.

Patricia Ann Goosby was born on April 8, 1943 in Ashland, AL to Bemery and Jessie Mae Sandlin who both preceded her in death. Upon graduating high school, Patricia moved to Jamaica, New York where she worked for New York Bell Telephone Company. Patricia met and united in holy matrimony with Edward Goosby and born out of that union was one daughter. Once retired, Patricia returned home to Alabama to be among family and friends and under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Emerson Ware, Jr., she was a faithful follower of the gospel until God called her home.

Nana made her final transition on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, AL.

In addition to her mother and father, Patricia was preceded in death by five brothers: David, James, John, Charles and Robert Sandlin. Two sisters: Ruby Joe Sandlin and Annie Mae Tolbert.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories a loving daughter: Pamela Goosby Mitchell (Corey) of Alexander City, AL. Five grandchildren: Sheavonne Young of Augusta, GA, Peter Brown II of Louisville, KY, Imani Brown, Tariq Muhammad and Kaylyn Mitchell of Alexander City, AL. Two great grandchildren: Peter Brown III and Messiah Emmanuel Brown of Louisville, KY. One aunt, Ms. Adoris Barefield of Gary, IN; one brother-in-law, Mr. Luther Tolbert, Sr. and one sister-in-law, Ms. Bobbie Sandlin of Alexander City, AL. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also cherish her memories including a very special friend for over 55 years, Ms. Pearl Kleckley of Jamaica, NY.
