Jasmine Juanisha Edwards, a beloved daughter, sister, godmother, and
friend, was born on December 7, 1988, in Sylacauga, Alabama, to Vanessa
Edwards and Keith Caffey. She passed away on August 22, 2025, at USA
Hospital in Mobile, Alabama, at the age of 36.
Jasmine lived a life full of purpose, passion, and joy. She dedicated her
career to serving others as a Special Education Teacher, where her patience,
compassion, and creativity left a lasting impact on her students. Beyond the
classroom, Jasmine had many passions. She had a deep love for music, a
creative spirit expressed through art, and an adventurous soul that longed to
explore the world. She was able to live that dream by driving trucks across
the country, traveling from state to state, and soaking in the beauty of life
along the way.
Though she had no children of her own, Jasmine's heart was full through her
role as a godmother to Marquis Calhoun, Markell Calhoun and Caiden Riley,
who will forever treasure her love and guidance.
She is survived by her devoted mother, Vanessa Edwards, and father, Keith
Caffey; grandparents Raymond and Delores Caffey, Mary Ann Wallace, and
Johnny B. Russell; one aunt Pamela Caffey and three uncles Raymond Lewis,
Raymond Caffey, and Johnny B. Edwards: five loving siblings: Shatanna
Holley, JaLynda Edwards, Charlsta Cooper, JaNautica Martin, and her brother
Stantavius Buckner; four niece and two nephews, Aiyanna Cooper, A’Riyah
Cooper, Jaiden Burton, Zoe Burton, Ezra Buckner, and Kamari Oliver along
with many other relatives and friends who were blessed to know her.
Jasmine now rests in eternal peace, reunited in Heaven with her dear aunt,
Linda Sue Cochran; her great-aunt, Ella Mae Gray; her great-grandmother,
Willie Mae Edwards, and her best friend, Cortez Goffer.
Her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her. Jasmine's
kindness, laughter, creativity, and adventurous spirit will continue to inspire
those she leaves behind.
