‘Gerri” - ‘Miss Gerri’ - Aunt Gerri - Geraldine Colvin Stephens was the youngest of seven children born to the union of Mr. Tera and Mrs. Rosa Lee Colvin.
The entire Colvin Family united with Great Bethel Baptist Church under the Pastorship of Rev. Dr. Milton Nunn. As youth we are including Geraldine served in the church and some ministry, Sunday School, Secretary, and Teacher.
After graduating from Laurel High School in 1958, she met and married Willie Foster and moved to Montgomery, Ala. To this union one child was born, Kenneth E. Foster.
Gerri and her family moved from Montgomery, Ala to Atlanta. GA, where she was employed for 32 years for the United Postal Service, retiring in 1998.
She united with the Chapel of Love Christian Love under the pastor Rev. J. Allen Milner Sr. Pastor of Atlanta, GA.
Later she returned to Alexander City, Ala.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Kenneth E. Foster of Montgomery, Ala. One brother, William F. Colvin of Alexander City, Ala. Three sisters: Brucie Mae Cook of Cleveland, Ohio, Rev. Lillian Colvin Barrett of Chicago, IL and Daisy Rickman of Cleveland, Ohio.. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
