Celebrating The Life & Legacy of Thelma Mae Thompson
Mrs. Thelma Mae Thompson peacefully transitioned on March 9, 2026 at the age of 91. Mrs. Thompson was born on May 10, 1934 in Clay County, AL. She lived a long life full of love, kindness, and always acknowledged Christ.
Thelma was a devoted and a beloved wife, mother, grand-mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She dedicated her life caring for others & living for the Lord . Thelma had a passion for helping & teaching others whether it was in the Classroom or Church. She retired from the Coosa County Board of Education after 24 years of dedicated service. She also served as President of Missionary Society at Marietta Baptist Church. Her generosity and warm spirit touched many lives which made her a cornerstone of her community.
Thelma, is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Franklin Thompson, her daughter Lenore Williams, & nine siblings.
She is survived by her loving children: Mrs. Marnita Sutton, Mrs. Teresa Crayton (Jerome), Ms. Ramona Thompson, Son-in-law; Mr. Fredrick Williams; Grand-children, Mr. Terell Williams, Mr. Lamar Harrison, Mrs. Larica Doss (Danyun), Ms. Sonya Sutton, Mr. Calvin Sheeley, Ms. Shareese Crayton, and Mr. Sheldon Stephenson; Great-grand-children: Tamia Williams, De’ Asia Doss, Tyorie Richardson, Da’ Quan Doss, Lamiya Harrison, Jaynyiah Mckinney, Zayden Doss, Aviana Stephenson, Lamarcus Harrison, Kai Stephenson and Amir Williams; Siblings: Mrs. Jerelen Street and Mrs. Gail McElrath; A host of other relatives and friends.
