Marsha Kay Murray was born on August 30, 1957, to Simpson O. Thompson & Ethel M. Thompson in Clay County, AL. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, & friend whose life was a beautiful reflection of love, strength, & grace. Whether it was her infectious laughter, her caring nature, or her ability to turn any moment into a cherished memory, she was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Marsha Kay entered eternal rest on March 2, 2026. She is preceded in death by her father, Simpson O. Thompson, mother, Ethel M. Thompson, & grandson, Aiden Murray.
More than anything, Marsha Kay was devoted to her family and friends. She cherished her relationships and was a source of strength, laughter, and unwavering support to those who needed her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Calvin R. Murray, her daughter, Laquisha M. Jones (Derrick), two sons, Calvin B. Murray (Crystal) all of Goodwater, AL, & Jeremy M. Murray (Tynice) of Coosada, AL, five sisters, Dollie Hearn, Dell Hearn of Lineville, AL, Sharon Dennis (Coleman) of Dothan, AL, Brenda Davis of Alexander City, AL, & Joyce Smith (Arthur) of Wetumpka, AL, one brother, Christopher Thompson of Auburn, AL, eight grandchildren, Malaysia Stowe, Aaliyah Murray, Makayla Murray, Darion Jones, Braylon Murray, Kelis Jones, all of Goodwater, AL, Lauryn Murray, & Lucah Murray of Coosada, AL, the Goodwater High School Class of 1975, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Her spirit will live on in every shared story, every echo of laughter, and every act of love inspired by her example.
