Mrs. Marjorie Jones Whetstone was born on November 4, 1947 in Tallapoosa County Alabama to the late Amos Wyckoff and Mary Edna Jones.
Marjorie accepted Christ at an early age and united with the New Elam #1 Baptist Church in Alexander city, AL. She later joined New Elam Baptist Church in Kellyton, AL. She worked faithfully for many years serving the Lord. She loved ministering to the youth and doing Missionary work in the church and in the community.
Mrs. Whetstone had many many hobbies, but cooking was her favorite.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Willie James Kelley and Jesse Jones.
Marjorie leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband, Rev. James L. Whetstone of Alexander City, AL. A loving son, Anthony Gerald Whetstone (Margie Schrum) and one cherished grandson, Brayden James Whetstone of Seattle, Washington. Two sisters: Ida (Art) Williams of Chicago, IL and Mary Alice Young of Alexander City, AL. One brother, A. J. (Jackie) Jones of Alexander City, AL.
Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Leonard (Ester) Whetstone, Frank Whetstone, Walter (Gloria) Whetstone and Ola Payne all of Louisville, KY. Glenda (James) Leonard of Stafford, VA. Darnell (Carolyn) Whetstone of Alexander City, AL. Donna Whetstone of Kellyton, AL and Ella Mae Kelley of Goodwater, AL. A god daughter, Derita Kelley and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
