Mrs. Louise 'Candy' (Varner) Woody

Mrs. Louise Candy Woody was born on April 7, 1943 to the union of the late Mr. Jay Hugh Varner, Sr. and Mrs. Earlene Deramus Varner.

She is preceded in death by her brothers: Clyde Varner, Jay Hugh Varner, and John Varner (Cora); two sisters, Mary Ella Varner and Arlene Varner.

Candy departed this life in peace on June 6, 2024 in Alexander City, Alabama.

Candy leaves to cherish her memories: Her husband, Willie Frank Woody of 58 years. One daughter, LaGreta Bucker; two sons: Vincent Woody and Marcus Woody (Contessa); two stepsons: Harold and Darold Ellington; One adopted daughter, Geraldine Harvey (Chris); Eight grandchildren, Shay (Justin), Gerrell (Carlesa), Vineke (Kimberly), Darrius (Brittany), Shannon, Brandon, Saprena, LaToya, and LaPortia; Thirteen great grandchildren, a host of other nieces and nephews. Three very special caregivers: Paula Watts, Jonathan Moore, and Sharon Richardson; A special friend Charmie Pearson.

Candy was a source of unwavering support, guidance, and unconditional love. Her nurturing spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, whether as a mother, grandmother, aunt, friend or neighbor. Her memory will be cherished and her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched.

Candy will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace, knowing she was loved beyond measure.
