Loretta Marie Whetstone was born October 30, 1952 to the late Lillie Marie and Bishop Daniel Alto Owens.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She graduated from Benjamin Russell High School in 1971. She attended vocational school in Opelika, AL. Upon graduation, Loretta was employed as a switchboard operator at Russell Hospital for many years. She would eventually start her career as a librarian at Adelia Russell Library where she had 20 years of dedicated service before retirement.
Loretta leaves to cherish her memories: three sisters: Veronica Owens, Atlanta, GA; Cecil Tuck and Paula Burton both of Alexander City, AL; two brothers: Josephus Owens (Anntonia) of Tuskegee, AL and Gregory Owens of Miami, FL. A host of friends, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
