Lora Mae Bridges, 83, of Alexander City, Alabama, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 11, 1942, in Alexander City to the late Emory Sr., and Mildred Wyckoff.
Lora was a devoted wife to her late husband, Bobby, and a nurturing mother to her four children: Trence, Byron, Paula, and Monica.
Lora was renowned for her exceptional skills in baking and gardening, and she possessed a profound passion for cooking, which was a reflection of her love for her family. In her professional life, she achieved notable success as a technician in the Testing and Evaluation Department at Russell Corporation. Furthermore, Lora dedicated over 20 years of service on the Trustee board of Haven United Methodist Church, making significant contributions to her Christian community.
Lora was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings: Mary J. Cornelius, Francis Tuck, Erma Bilbrew, Martha Ann Willams (Wille), Harvey Wyckoff, Horace Wyckoff, James Wyckoff, and Ted Wyckoff.
She is survived by her children, Byron (Vivian) and Monica Bridges (Dexter); A long-time cherished and devoted friend Christy Brown; A significant companion, Raymond Pearson; Nine grandchildren: Greta Bridges, Shae Brummitt-Edwards (David), Kahlia Meadow (Keith), Anthquian Brummitt (Fantesha), Jarvis Bridges (Brittany), Chrystal Bridges (Will), Bryce Bridges, Brooke Bridges, and Brianna Bridges; Six great grandchildren: Deja, Devan, Jaden, Jace, Khloe, and Domnic (Lee Trence); Siblings: Fannie Doris Martin (Josh), Emory Wyckoff Jr. (Mary), Larry Wyckoff (Ruthie), Laney Echols (Ricky), and Jeanette Williams (Alfred); Honorary sister Lemma Judkins; A sister in love, Dorothy Wyckoff; A host of other relatives and friends.
