Janie B. Grubbs Owens was born on October 3, 1936 to the late Richard Grubbs and Ozella Gamble Grubbs.
Janie B. transitioned on August 30, 2021 at Lake martin Community Hospital, Dadeville, Alabama.
Janie B is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Owens, parents, and her deceased Grubbs family.
She was a faithful member of the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a missionary, part of the kitchen committee, and a deacon’s wife. She attended church until her health wouldn’t allow her too. Before her health started to decline, Janie enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, talking on the phone and going out to eat with friends. She was definitely a fighter who beat the odds several times.
She leaves behind a son, Fredrick (Brenda) Owens and daughter, Djuna Owens. Granddaughters: Lashunda (Jonathan) Smith, Brittany Johnson, Nicole Mcintyre, Latasha Finely, and a Grandson, Dwight Allen. Great grands: Dejerick Cunningham and Ja’Tayshia Smith. Great Great Grands: Ja’Mir Wyckoff, Amaurius Wyckoff, and Amoura Cunningham. A special daughter in law/friend, Catherine Owens, bonus grandchildren: Faye Owens, Thomas Owens, Gwendolyn Banks, Rickey Wade Owens, and Janice Owens. A special friend, Annie Pearl Jones and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
