Mrs. Dore\a Lee Judkins Edison 81, passed away at her home in Detroit, Michigan.
On May 22, 1940, Mrs. Dora Lee Judkins Edison was born to the late Willie and Jewell Judkins.
Mrs. Dora Lee Judkins Edison accepted Christ at an early age at New Home Missionary Baptist Church, Rockford, Alabama..
She graduated from J. D. Thompson High School. She later was united in Holy Matrimony with the late Freeman Edison in Goodwater, Alabama. They later moved to Detroit, Michigan. They were blessed with five beautiful daughters.
While living in Detroit, Michigan. Dora united with the Faith Baptist Church and worked for General Motors Automotive until her health began to fail.
She loved baking southern dishes. She spent enormous energy in gardening as a reflection of her love for flowers. She took pride in both whereas, everyone around her felt her loved expressed to them.
She was protective and proud of her family. She loved the time she spent with her family as much as they loved spending time with her. Dora will be missed by her remaining family members, but her wisdom and the memories of our times with her will stay with us forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Edison, two daughters: Velma Edison McKinney and Belinda Edison. Two brothers: c. J. Judkins and Sammie Judkins.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories; her three daughters: Catherine (Jody) Cannon, of Southfield, MI; Sherily Edison of Detroit, MI, and Janet Hoyett of Goodwater, AL. A special son in law, Nathaniel McKinney of Kellyton, AL. Two sisters: Mary (Tommie) Gates of Kellyton, AL and Jewell (Arthur) Russell of Alexander City, AL. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
