Mrs. Cynthia Ware Obituary

Born on April 24, 1960, to the late Calvin Gray and Vera Crabb, Mrs. Cynthia Renee Gray-Ware entered the world with quiet purpose and a heart destined for service. She was a proud graduate of Edward Bell High School, Class of 1978, and continued her education at Alexander City Junior College, earning an Associate’s degree in Business Administration with the Class of 1980.

Her life stood as a testimony of faith in action. Deeply rooted in her beliefs, she was a devoted and active member of New Adka Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully and humbly. On September 25, 1999, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dewayne Ware.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her aunt, Ella Mae Williams; her cousin, Reginald Williams; her nephew, Kevin Oniel Crabb Jr. (“Keke”); her beloved godmother, Jean Fielder-Irvin; and her sister, Regina Hill, her cherished little sister who held a special place in her heart.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Dewayne Ware; her brother, Kevin Leon Crabb; her aunts, Annie Crabb and Mary Barkley; her beloved cousins, Maurice Barkley, Andrewnetta Williams, Clarita Lucas and her children Durante and NaKia, Malcolm Williams, Phillip Ewing, Vera Redwine, Mark Beasley, Virginia Beasley, and Marcus Glover; brother-in-law Johnnie Hill and special friends: Mary Greathouse, Karen Keith, Evelyn Jennings, Diane Torbert, Wanda Chabliss-Daniel, Faye Johnson, and Helen Johnson.

She also leaves behind a village of children she loved, raised, guided, and claimed as her own: Ke’Yaffa Carter, Ja’Xarte Hill, Lacrissa Harris, Kandra, Maurice, and Tara. That village also includes the children she helped raise alongside them: Zantjuan, Dyneathia, Staneisha, Brayden, Aryanna, Aalaya, Brexton, LaMatthew, Alexander, Nathan, Olivia, Maloni, Devin, Christen, Carleigh, and Creed. Her heart continued to expand, most recently embracing Ms. Sevyn Black, who held a special and tender place in her life.

All of whom she loved and nurtured with unwavering devotion and care.

This village stands as her living legacy.
