Mr. Roy Lee Coley was born on October 31,1940, in Alexander City AL, to the late Mr. Louis Coley and Mrs. Margaret Ruth Russell Coley.
He received his education in the public schools of Alabama and graduated from Laurel High School in 1958. Following graduation, he attended trade school, where he prepared for his lifelong profession. Mr. Coley dedicated more than 50 years of service as a skilled Brick Mason, contributing to numerous projects throughout the Alexander City area, including work along Lake Martin and at Talladega Prison. His craftsmanship and work ethic were admired and respected by all who knew him.
After retirement, Mr. Coley enjoyed spending his time watching Auburn football, playing cards, and sharing fellowship with his family and friends.
On Sunday, September 14, 2025 Mr. Roy Lee Coley peacefully departed this life and entered into eternal rest at the age of 84.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth McNeal Coley; his parents, Mr. Louis Coley and Mrs. Margaret Coley; his sister, Laura Mae Hicks; his brother, Mr. Donald Coley; his daughter, Ms. Deborah Coley Echols; and son –in-law Melvin Echols.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a son, Mr. Roger Coley; one brother, Mr. Early B. Coley (Cora); grandchildren: Mr. Mario Echols (Chelsea), Mr. Jahvon Coley, Ms. Gabrielle Coughlin, Ms. Jazmin Lopez, and Ms. Mariah Coughlin; great-grandchildren, Kaydnn Brown and Mario Echols Jr. ; one sister-in-law Lavera Kelly; devoted friends: Mr. Terrence Marbury, Mr. Darrel Heard, Ms. Tracy Coughlin, Ms. Traci Blumerick, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
