Melvin Jacobs Sr. was born on June 2, 1953 to the late Raymond Jacobs Sr. and Mary Lois Taylor Jacobs.
Mr. Jacobs departed the walk of life on October 10, 2023 at Russell Medical Center, Alexander City, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond Jacobs Sr. and Mary L. Jacobs; his son, Darmeka Marbury; Siblings: Leon Taylor, Raymond Jacobs Jr., Bettey Joe Taylor, and Henry Jacobs.
He will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Lelia Jacobs of Goodwater, AL; Children: Jennifer (Alfred) Norris of Goodwater, AL and Melvin (Okesha) Jacobs Jr. of Montgomery, AL; Siblings: William Jacobs, James Alford Lauderdale, Elliott Jacobs, Marie Jacobs– Kendrick, Jimmy Jacobs, and Carolyn Johnson; Grandchildren: Jazlyn Jacobs (Meathead), Arianna Harrell (fathead), and Layla Norris (Squirmy); Great Grandson, Jaxson Jacobs Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
Melvin was well known to the community and very much loved. He was a truck driver for over 40 plus years and carried the name “Doc”. Everyone that knew him knew he loved Alabama Football. He loved his family dearly and will be truly missed.
