Mr. M. L. McElrath, Sr. was born to the late Mr. Richard McElrath and Mrs. Bertha McElrath in Goodwater, AL on March 24, 1934.
Mr. M. L. McElrath, Sr. was a proud member of Kellyton Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a choir member , on the Board of Trustees, member of the United Methodist Men, and member of the Pastor Parish Relationship Committee until he was called into eternal rest on August 31, 2020.
M. L. was preceded in death by the love of his life, Mrs. Lora Dean McElrath (to whom he was married for 55 years). The late Mrs. Annie McElrath, his siblings: Emma Dee Kelly, Linnie Mae Smith, Frankie Adair, Helen Fluker, Catherine McElrath, Richard T. McElrath, L. B. McElrath and two sons: Tyrone McElrath and Leonard McKinney.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Children: Thomas McKinney, M. L. McElrath, Jr. (Mary); Glenda Woody, Arvetta Strong (Rev. Michael); Carolyn Riggans (Willie); Addie B. Strickland, Waterbury, CTRegina Jenkins (Wilfred); Terrance Maxwell (Gwendolyn); Anthony W. McElrath (Bertha); Wayne McElrath (Addie); Memphis McElrath (Lisa); Ray McElrath; Lorna Allen (Rodney). Sister, Shellie Ballard. Daughter-in-law Angela McKinney. Brother-in-law Bill Fluker. Two sisters-in-law: Agnes Bridges and Lora Bridges, thirty-six (36) grandchildren, sixty-three (63) great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
