Sergeant First Class John Claude Moore was born May 8, 1957 to James A. Moore and the late Dorothy J. Lee Moore in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
As a young child, he established a relationship with God and accepted Christ as his savior. While residing in Alexander City, AL, he served as an usher at Great Bethel Baptist Church.
John graduated from Washington Marion High School in the class of 1975. Eager to travel and explore the world, John joined the United States Army. Later, he joined the National Guard in Alexander City, Alabama and was in the 214th Military Police Corp. During that time, he was deployed to Saudi Arabia and took part in the Gulf War, serving in Operation Desert Shield.
Sergeant First Class John Claude Moore received a plethora of military awards and recognitions: Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Reserve Components Training Ribbon, Sharpshooter Badge, Marksman Badge, and Meritorious Unit Citation. John was employed at NCP Solutions for 18 years. John is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Alice Annette Moore.
John leaves to cherish his memories: his son, Jonathan J. Moore; his daughter, Daphene Engrum; his grandsons, Marquise Engrum, Malike Engrum, Mackenzie Engrum, and Jaiden Moore; his great-grandson, Rashad Engrum; his sister, Lisa Jackson; his brother Neal Moore; and a special friend and companion, Kimberly White with whom John spent his final years in Hoover, AL.
Sergeant First Class John Claude Moore, we salute you! You were the epitome of a perfect spouse, caring father, helpful friend, motivating mentor, compassionate supervisor, gallant soldier, and the Godly man everyone needed you to be.
