Jessie James Corbin Jr. was born September 28, 1949, in Alexander City, Al. He passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, in Las Vegas, NV., at the age of 71 years old from an extended illness. He was born to Jessie James Corbin Sr. and Annie Ruth Oliver Corbin, his father preceded him in death.
Jessie was a vibrant and inquisitive child with a natural ability to tinker and repair electronics and automobiles. Early on he had a robust energy and a desire to work in a variety of professions.
He worked in transportation, automation and mortuary services. He attended Laurel High School in Alexander City. After his studies he moved to Detroit, Michigan where he worked for the General Motors Corporation. Jessie had the ability to see an item and innately figure out how to fix it like it was brand new. While in Las Vegas he worked many years as a mechanic, sought after it work on classic and sport cars.
Jessie leaves his cherished and beloved mother Annie Ruth Oliver Corbin. His three children: Michael Corbin (Tish) Elgin, IL, Sherry Corbin, Sylacauga, AL and Elantis Hall-Perry (Edmond), Warren, MI. His sister Emma Corbin, Superior Township, MI, who was his rock. Three aunts: Emma Jean Bynum, Gadsden, AL, Virginia Ann Russell, Detroit, MI and Helen Oliver, Ann Arbor, MI. One uncle Bobby Oliver, Detroit, MI.
Jessie was the grandfather of twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He has a host of loving cousins, friends and extended family.
