James Madison Thomas was born May 22, 1959 to the late Willie James and Dorothy Lauderdale Thomas.
At an early age he joined the Pleasant Home Baptist Church where he confessed Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior.
He attended Bibb Graves High School and worked for Madix in Goodwater for forty plus years.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Willie James and Dorothy Thomas; his grandparents Harvey and Hosea Lauderdale and Jim and Annie Thomas; One brother and one sister, Jerry Thomas & Cynthia Elston.
James entered into heavenly rest on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
James leaves to cherish his memories, 3 daughters and 1 son: Shawnte Ragland, Jermaine Smith, Marquinda Wilson (Jeff), & Brittany Whatley (William Whatley II); 1 grandchild, Makayla J. Myers; 3 sisters and 2 brothers: Carolyn Whetstone (Darnel), Diane Wyckoff, Teresa Jones, Robert Thomas (Marion) & Kenneth Thomas (Shelia); 3 uncles, Rev. Willie T. Lauderdale, Harvey Lauderdale, & L.B. Lauderdale; 3 aunts, Gladys Harrison, Beulah Chapman, & Barbara Moon; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 2 remarkable nieces Lakeisha Strong and Tashara Flowers.
