James Ransaw passed away at 84 after living a simple and beautiful life. He was a devoted family man, husband, father, brother, grandfather. Although his formal education was short, he was able to raise his children to be an asset to society by participating in vital roles in the armed forces and encouraged their educational achievements in nursing, physical therapy, and a Chief Master Sergeant in the United Air Force.
Those who remember him, speak of his humor and devotion to his wife. Even after retiring, he stayed active taking up gardening. He was a member of the Prince Hall Mason and was a master Mason.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Lizzie Ransaw, children Tenia Reyes (Hector), James Terry Ransaw (Christine), Jacqueline Ransaw and Gregory Ransaw (Susan), his sister Essie Fennie. He also leaves three grandchildren, Annette Wilson, Jordan Reyes, and Braxton Ransaw, and a host of other relatives. He will go to be with those who have gone before him including his parents Jack and Louella and his partners from the coffee crew.
