James Douglas always had a love for studying the Bible. After studying the Bible in earnest, he and his family started attending the Alexander City Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. From what he learned and accepted, he willingly dedicated himself to Jehovah God, symbolized his dedication by water baptism, and became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on May 8, 1963. He diligently taught his children a love for Jehovah God and Jesus Christ, and enjoyed helping others in the community learn about the Bible and its promises as well. After his retirement, he started assisting others to learn Bible truths full time spending a minimum 70 hours, a month as a pioneer. He eagerly volunteered for added assignments given him within the Congregation and the Organization. James Douglas served as an elder until his death.
