Mr. Henry Walter Knight

Mr. Henry W. Knight Sr, was born August 12, 1933 to the late Mr. Jessie James and Mrs. Minnie Knight.

Preceding his death was his parents: Mr. Jessie Knight and Mrs. Minnie Knight; Wife, Mrs. Sible Wyckoff Knight; A son, Elester Knight; Seven brothers: B.H. Knight, William Knight, J.C. Knight, George Knight, Jessie Knight, Lavelle Knight, & Lynwood Knight; Four sisters: Nellie J. Morris, Helen M. Glenn, Annie L. Jones, and Christine Williams.

He joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served as a faithful member and head of Deacon board until God called him home.

He was a retired member of Sweet Mary Lodge #101 A N.S. He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mrs. Sible Knight in 1957. To this union, five children were born: Richard, Henry, Jr., Melissa, Joyce, and Elester.

Mr. Knight departed this life on January 13, 2024 at Grandview Medical Center, Birmingham, AL.

He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters, Ms. Melissa Hardnett and Mrs. Joyce (Roger) Pearson both of Newsite, AL. Two sons: Richard (Angela) Knight of Poplarville, MS and Henry Knight, Jr. (Earnestine) of Alexander City, AL ; Seven Foster Children; Two sisters: Ruth Knight of Dayton, OH and Geraldine Hines of Stone Mountain, GA. Nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and A host of sisters-in law, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.  A special friend, Alice Lewis.
