Mr. Gary Foster “Hard Guard”, 73, of Alexander City, AL, passed away on April 4, 2026. Born on August 13, 1952, in Anniston, AL, Gary was the son of Mr. Curtis Foster and Mrs. Atha Wyckoff-Lindsey, and the stepson of Mr. Edward Lindsey.
He was a devoted member of Great Bethel Missionary Baptist church, where he served faithfully as a united member and usher.
Gary dedicated many years of service to the department of Transportation in Alexander City, AL. He was also a longtime umpire, a role he took great pride in. He was a true Alabama football fan through and through.
He is survived by his loving children: Teresia Maxwell, Nikia (Brian) Piotter, and Sarah Fountain; his beloved granddaughters: Zaria, Zoey, and Madison, who brought him endless joy; Gary is also survived by his brothers: Mr. Edward (Angelia) Lindsey Jr. and Mr. Nathaniel Lindsey, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Gary will be remembered for his steady presence, his love for his family, sports, and the deep roots he built in the community he called home.
