Mr. Gary Lee Edwards affectionally known as “Big E” was born to the late Mr. Sam Tuck and Ms. Katie V. Edwards in Coosa County, Alabama, on September 7, 1955.
He departed his earthly life at the American Cancer Society-Joe Lee Griffin Hope Lodge Birmingham, Alabama, on June 9, 2025, to enter his heavenly home.
Gary was preceded in death by both of his loving parents, his brothers, Hershel Tuck, LeRoy Tuck, Nathaniel Tuck, Sonny Tuck, and Grandson QuienZarious Edwards.
He joined the New Elam Missionary Baptist Church at a young age, where he remained a member until his passing. He attended both the Coosa County and Tallapoosa County school systems, graduating with the class of 1975. He was employed at Russell Mills, Avondale Mills, and various trucking companies until his health began to decline.
Gary was a self-motivated and determined entrepreneur with a passion for music.
He leaves a special and loving memories with his life partner Ms. Shirley Russell of Kellyton, AL; His devoted children: Ms. Cherisa Edwards of Birmingham, AL; Ms. Carla Humphrey of Tampa, FL; Mr. Cedric Edwards of Tampa, FL; Ms. Demetria Barnes, of Alexander City, AL; and Mr. Curtis Moon of Alexander City, AL.
He was also loved by Ms. Rickeysha Russell of Alexander City, AL, Ms. Theresa Dunn of Alexander City, AL, and Ms. Sydney Lasley of Hawaii; Grandsons: Mr. Quientravious Edwards of Montgomery, AL, Mr. Quienterious Edwards, of Montgomery, AL, Mr. QuienGashaious Tuck of Atlanta, GA; Mr. Travenski Edwards, of Killeen, Texas, Mr. Davede Herron of Montgomery, AL, Mr. Za’Corrion Milliner of Birmingham, AL; Three granddaughters: Ms. Mariah Edwards of Dothan, AL; Ms. Za’Najia Milliner of Alexander City, AL and Ms. Cur’Mari Moon of Millbrook, AL; One great-granddaughter Kensley Edwards of Montgomery, AL; Two brothers, Mr. Samuel Louis Tuck of Detroit, MI, and Mr. Charlie (Faye) Tuck of Warner Robins, GA; One sister, Ms. Helen Brooks of Alexander City, AL; One Aunt, Allie Ivey of Gadsden, AL; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loving friends.
