Deacon Felix Ed Holley, Jr. was born to Rosie Richardson and Felix Holley, Sr. on May 5, 1945. Deacon Holley accepted Christ at an early age. Deacon Holley was affectionately known by all. In spite of what life may have thrown his way, he always managed to flash a smile that lit up the world. He loved his family, his life, his friends, and church family.
Deacon Holley proudly served in the United States Army in the late 1960’s. He began working at Russell Corporation in Alexander City, AL in 1969. He worked as a supervisor until he retired in the early 2000’s. As an extracurricular activity, he was a referee. He also coached and played softball for Russell Corporation softball league. He was a faithful member of New Elam #1 Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a Deacon on September 5, 2010.
On Sunday, April 5, 2020, Deacon Holley gained his wings. Deacon Holley was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings; Louise Henderson, Lezora Menefee, Annie Ruth Tuck, Bud Holley, and Rev. Troy Holley.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Beatrice Holley; Brother, Milton Holley; Brother-in-law, Edward Phillips; His children, Phyllis (William) Thomas, Wyetta Holley, Kelley (Karen) Holley, Laura Holley, Dwana Varner; His grandchildren, Shalunda Price, Adrian Whetstone, Taylor Whetstone, Kaylee Holley, Ahmad Varner; a special niece, Rosietta Marbury; six great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
