Elvys  ‘Mama’s Baby’ McKinney

Elvys Lewis McKinney was the oldest son born on February 15, 1958 to the late Mr. Isaac ’J.W.’ and Pastor Annie L. McKinney in Goodwater, Alabama. Our heavenly father sent his angles to receive him on Saturday, February 13, 2022 a few days before his next birthday. Thankful to the Lord we were there to see him transition.

Elvys joins his mom and dad and two brothers Isaac Jr. ’Uncle Buck’ and Stacey “BB’ McKinney. The five of them celebrated his birthday on Tuesday. He, like many of us accepted Christ more than a few times in his life. He attended Hannah J. Mallory and Goodwater High School.  He worked several years at Sterling Lumber Company, but his major vocation was ‘tearing down and building motors’ any kind and anything with a motor, including lawn mowers. Elvys was a great speller, he enjoyed working Word Search books and probably completed hundreds of them. He loved life, loved his family and he loved people.

He leaves to cherish his memories loving brothers and sisters, Elder Charlotte (Rufus) Smith,  Bishop Douglas (Peggy) McKinney, (Montgomery, AL) Sylvester Cleveland, Ann Richardson (Goodwater, AL) Min. Pamela (Elder Larry) Meadows, (Allenhurst, GA) Berlinda (Dennis) Howard, (Goodwater, AL) Loraine (Kevin) Johnson, (Montgomery, AL), Erskin McKinney (Goodwater, AL) Terrie McKinney (Bill Frazier) (Goodwater, AL) Jerry (Evang. Kathy) McKinney (Childersburg, AL) and a brotherly nephew Anthony (Tiffany) Kelley (Chelsea, AL). A great host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, including an array of friends and buddies as he called them.
