Mr. Donel Stephens

On March 7, 1962 Donel Stephens was born in Ashland, Alabama to Sadie Inez Stephens and the late L. J. Prothro.

Donel was loved by everyone that came in contact with him.  He enjoyed life and his family and he lived his life.  I believe his purpose on this earth was to make people laugh because that’s just what he did.

Donel Stephens was called home on October 3, 2021 at his home. 

He was preceded in death by his dad, L.J. Prothro, brother, Derrall Stephens and sister, Ruby Graves.

Donel leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Sadie Inez Stephens.  13 sisters and brothers: Delois Simmons of Ashland, AL; Howard Prothro (Margaret) of Dallas, TX; Angela Zackery of Ashland, AL; Ann Baker (James) of Heflin, AL; Terry Stephens of Lineville, AL Betty Johnson (Randy) of Chicago, IL; Nanette Stephens of Ashland, AL; Carolyn Simpson (Jimmy) of Mesquite, TX; Jeffery Stephens of Dayton, OH; Lawrence Prothro (Toni) of Lancaster, TX; LarryProthro of Mesquite, TX;  Tyson Stephens of Orlando, FL; and Mary Sims (Jimmy Ray) of Heflin, AL. One aunt, Lena Mae Glenn.  One uncle, Willie Prothro and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  A special friend, Laura Chillous.
