On November 15, 2021, Coley Whetstone, Jr. departed this life at Clay County Hospital in Ashland, Alabama at the age of 74.
Coley Jr. was born on August 9, 1947, to the union of Luverne Kelly Whetstone and the late Coley Whetstone, Sr. He was a 1965 graduate of J. D. Thompson High School in Cottage Grove, Alabama. After graduation, Coley worked for Russell Corporation and relocated to Alexander City, Alabama.
Coley Jr. enjoyed attending wrestling events, and traveling to different attractions within the state of Alabama. He loved his Jeep and summertime was his all time favorite to cruise with his top off! He also enjoyed eating a good steak, drinking a black cup of coffee, and loved to share his signature comment of “Yes Yes” when both were tasty. He never met a stranger and was eager to help anyone he met along his way.
In addition to being preceded in death by his father, Coley Whetstone, Sr., he was also preceded in death by one sister, Margie Nell Whetstone Hall.
Coley Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: his son Reverend Cedric Jones (Shenetha) of Kellyton, AL; his daughter Meosha Whetstone of Alexander City, AL; his grandchildren Gary, Jamarion, Elik, Lelani, and Prodigy; great grandchild, Serenity. his mother, Luverne Kelly Whetstone of Goodwater, AL; two brothers: Clyde Whetstone (Debra) and Jather Whetstone, Sr. of Goodwater, AL; two sisters: Ruthie Brooks of Brooklyn, NY and Regina Leonard of Goodwater, AL; and his adopted son Darryll Young (April) of Alexander City, AL. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
