Charlie Edward Benton was born on February 9, 1951 in Alexander City, Alabama.
He passed away at his residence in Goodwater, AL on August 1, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his brothers: John Henry Hall,
Robert L. Benton, and Charles Benton; A sister Mary Ann Tuck.
Charlie was affectionately known as “Charlie Rock”. He was the beloved son of the late William and Dera Benton.
Charlie graduated from Laura High School in 1969, where he excelled in basketball.
Sergeant Charlie Edward Benton was a proud veteran of the United States Military. Charlie served in the United States Army, the United States Army Reserve, and the United States Army National Guard retiring with 31 years of service.
His memories will forever be cherished. He is survived by his son, Kadori D. Benton of Kellyton, Alabama; daughter, Krystal A. Benton of Alabaster, Alabama; Grandson, Gabriel O. Benton of Boaz, Alabama; granddaughters: Kyliee N. Benton of Elmore, Alabama and Kalani S. Spencer of Alabaster, Alabama; Brothers: Reverend Jesse L. Mayes (Mary) of Alexander City, Alabama, and Reverend David L. Benton (Elizabeth) of Prattville, Alabama
