Slick was born to the late Shelby Turner & Leola Green Turner on October 4, 1937.
Later on in life he began to work in Logging, Health Care, & Textile industry where he spent over 50 years.
At an early age, he became a member of Little Zion AME (Baskin-Chapel). He was also a member of God’s House of Prayer. He was a very hard worker & loved his family.
He is proceeded in the area of his parents, 4 sisters, 1 granddaughter, and 1 brother.
He leaves to cherish a memory with his 4 children: 1 daughter Deldria Turner (Tampa, Florida); 3 Sons: Roland (Belinda) Brook of Alexander City, Alabama; Bernard (Debra) Turner of Alexander City, Alabama; & Vakail Turner of Plano, Texas. 9 Grands: Roderick, Quin, Rosheena, January, Brinna, Zailyn, BerBontae, Miranda, & Etta. 6 Great Grands: Jaelyn, J.J., Kaidyen, Reasia, Karson, & Olivia. 7 sisters: Mamie (Maurie Polite) Jr. of Springfield, Massachusetts, Geraldine Turner, Shirley (Alex) Davis, Nora Turner, all of Dadeville, Alabama; Catrina Johnson & Maria Turner, both of Alexander City, Alabama; Lavonia Heard of Chattanooga, Tennessee. 1 brother, Darnell Turner of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Special Nephews: Clyde, Gary, Dewayne, & Kinnard Ware. Host of friends & other family members.
