Mr. Kevin T. Meadows SR, AKA “Mr. GQ”, was born July 23, 1961 to Mr. Johnnie, Jr.
and Mrs. Mary Mahala (Leonard) Meadows.
At an early age, Kevin gave his life to Christ. Upon graduating from Goodwater
High School, Kevin joined the United States Army and served in the Military for
almost 29 years. This career afforded him to live in places such as Italy, Germany,
Georgia, California, South Carolina and Alabama. Kevin retired from the United
States Army as a Lieutenant Colonel. He graduated college from Jacksonville
State University in Jacksonville, AL with a BA; and a Masters Degree from the
University of Louisville in Kentucky. Kevin enjoyed carpentry woodwork along
with building and refurbishing furniture and older homes, photography, cooking &
entertaining family and friends; He loved his family. He could easily be found
listening to Jazz and/or rebuilding and restoring computers. However, his greatest
joy came when he talked about or spent time with his son, Kevin Jr.
Kevin departed this life Thursday, March 13, 2025. He was preceded in death by
his parents, Johnnie & Mary Mahala Meadows, a brother, Johnnie Lewis
Meadows and Two sisters, Belinda Denise “Niece” Meadows & Bonita Meadows.
Kevin leaves to cherish his memories Son & Daughter-in-law, Kevin (Lacy)
Meadows Jr. of Conway, SC; “Adopted” son, Benjamin Shaw, former wife, Deidre
Meadows, six brothers: SGM Elder Lauria “Larry” (Pamelyn) Meadows of Huntsville,
AL, SFC LaTerence (Kimberly) Meadows of Kellyton, AL, Karl Meadows of Kelly-
ton, AL, Barry (Karen) Meadows of Kellyton, AL, Keith (Kahalia) Meadows of Alex-
ander City, AL, & Lavor Meadows of Kellyton, AL; Six sisters: Patricia Meadows of
Kellyton, AL, Mary Ann Meadows of Montgomery, AL, SSG Brenda J. Meadows-
Townes of Birmingham, AL, Elder Pamela T. (Charles) Higgins of Columbia, SC,
Monica W. McCord of Montgomery, AL & Toinette M. Williams of Montgomery,
AL.
He also leaves to cherish his memories Two Aunts: Ms. Myrtle Ellington of
Alexander City, AL and Ms. Vella Johnson of Detroit, Michigan; Close friends:
David Abrams and Dr. Syed Shah. Several nieces and nephews, and a host of other
relatives, cousins and other close friends.
