John 'Boot' Ellis Kelly

Mr. John Ellis Kelly known as “Boot” was born on May 25, 1940 to the late Mr. George ‘Nip’ Kelly and Mrs. Lessie Mae Hill in Coosa County, Alabama.

He joined St. John A.M.E. at an early age.  After working for over 25 years, Boot retired from the Coosa County Highway Department.

John departed this life at his residence on Thursday, July 12, 2018.

He leaves to cherish his memories: three brothers: George Kelly Sr. of Ashland, AL, Bobby Lee Kelly of San Diego, CA and Charles Kelly of Goodwater, AL.  Two sisters: Virginia Jones (L.J.) and Christine Kelly of Goodwater, AL.   One daughter, Brittney Kelly of Alexander City, AL and one son, Terry Kelly of Birmingham, AL. Two grandchildren: JaKori Kelly and Markee Hardlett.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
