Ms. Dorothea Jo Knight ‘Thea’ was born on January 1, 1963 to Ms. Frankie Bell Knight in Alexander City, Alabama.
At an early age she united with the Ridge Grove Baptist Church in Alexander City, Alabama.
Dorothea Knight received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from Auburn University at Montgomery in 2002 and a Masters of Education from Strayer University in 2009.

Adoptive son, Russell Smith. 2 uncles: Elgie Knight of Troy, AL and Carey (Sabrina) Knight of Alexander City, AL. 3 aunts: Sarah Burns, Billie Davis and Dorothy Knight all of Alexander City, AL.
