Mr. Donald Ray Smith, affectionally called “Ray” was born January 2, 1963 in Coosa County to the late Mr. Robert Smith and Mrs. Annie Ruth Johnson Smith.
Mr. Donald R. Smith departed this life on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Jackson’s Hospital, Montgomery, Alabama
He joined Marietta Baptist Church at an early age and confessed Christ and truly believed in God.
Mr. Donald R. Smith was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mrs. Teresa Ann Gaddis-Smith on March 22, 1986.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa A.Smith, his parents, Mr. Robert and Annie Ruth Smith and a sister, Julia Marie Smith.
He leaves to rejoice in his home going celebration: 2 daughters: Sparkle Shuntae Gaddis and Miracle Hope Smith. 1 son, Donald Ray Smith, Jr. all of Goodwater, AL. A grandson, Rashun Henderson ‘Ray-Ray”..2 sisters: Margaret Twyman and Karen (Roger) Fester. 3 brothers: Robert Smith (Marilyn), Charles Smith (Lisa) both of Milwaukee, WI and Rev. Timothy B. Smith (Daphne) of Sylacauga, AL. A grandmother, Alean Johnson of Alexander City, AL. 3 uncles: James F. Smith (Teresa) of Springfield, Ohio, Floyd Johnson (Ethel) and Jerry Johnson all of Alexander City, AL. 4 aunts: Betty Johnson, Alice Rowe (J. Hue), Doris Johnson and Brenda Norris all of Alexander City, AL. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A very special friend, Gregg Todd.
