Derek Simmons

Derek Simmons Sr. was born on January 6, 1969 in Goodwater, Alabama.  He attended Glen Hill High School.  He later moved to Virginia. 

He is preceded in death by his mother, Ms. Wanda Simmons-Davis.

He is survived by his two children: Octavia Simmons and Derek Simmons Jr., one brother, Corey McElrath, one sister, Kewanna McElrath, father, James Earl Slaughter, a special uncle Donald Simmons (Mary), special aunt, Liz Simmons.  A host of  nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
