Barbara Chaney

Barbara Ann McElrath Chaney was born on October 9, 1955 to the late Mr. John Henry McElrath and Mrs. Daisy Tyson McElrath.

Barbara became a member of the Move of God in Talladega, AL.

She received her childhood education at Hannah J. Mallory School in Goodwater, AL.

Later in life, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Mitchell Chaney.  Barbara worked at Goodwater Nursing Home for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Barbara was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie McElrath.  her brothers: Junior Tyson and James McElrath.  Her sisters: Fannie Gaddis and Christine McKinney.

She leaves to cherish her memories:  a loving husband, Mr. Mitchell Chaney.

Two brothers-in-law: Dennis Carter, Walter Brown,. Three sisters-in-law: Lillie Chaney, Sherierka Chaney, and Marilyn Brown.

Two daughters: Sharon (Roy) Anderson of Seattle, WA and Cynthia  Meadows (Bill) of Sylacauga, AL.  Two sons: Lee Smith of Indianapolis, IN and Willie James Jackson of Anniston, AL.  Step-sons: Anthony Bennett of Sylacauga, AL, Mitchell (Keyana) Jefferies of Childersburgh, AL, Courtney Jeffries and Tamarcus  Jefferies of Birmingham, AL.  17 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
