“A Time to be Born

On February 8, 1954 Otis Franklin Cagle was born to Blanche Cagle and Richard Frank Cobb in Moore County North Carolina. Otis lived with his Grandmother Mattie Dumas up until her death in 1964. He loved his Grandmother and Parents Dearly.

 

“A Time to Plant”

Otis accepted Christ as his Lord and personal Savior at an early age.  Otis had a strong faith in God and believed in his word.

 

“A Time to Build”

Otis attended Union Pines High School and spend time in the Job Corps to learn a trade.  He worked for Alex Caddell many years and was like family to them.  Otis married Bonnie Alston in the early 70’s and they raised five children.  Otis served a brief stint in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division.  Otis moved to Alabama and on November 1, 2001 married Valerie Gore.  He helped raise his step-son, Chris and daughters: Kayla and Katrina. Otis was a skilled laborer and loved working on automobiles.  He loved the outdoors, and was an avid fisherman.  Otis was a sports fanatic and the Auburn Tigers was his team.  Otis prided himself on caring for the lawn and detailing the family vehicles.  Otis loved playing dominoes with friends, spades, and many other games.  He taught Val to play many games including Chess.

 

“A Time to Mourn”

On August 31, 2019, Otis Cagle transitioned from this earthly vessel to his spiritual body.  Otis leaves to cherish his awesome memories a devoted, fun loving wife of 17 years, Valerie Cagle.  Three sons: Greg Alston of NC; Otis Cagle, Jr. of NC and Christopher Gore of AL.  Five daughters: Kimberly (Allister) Boyke of NC; Lavonia Cagle, Benita Cagle both of NC; Katrina (Patrick) Owens of OH and the ‘cream of the crop” as Otis would say, Kayla Cagle.  Five brothers: Charles (Shirley) Cobb of CT, Alphus (Maggie) Cobb of CT; Bishop Donnie Cobb of Ct; Clayton (Jenice) Cobb of CT; and Herman Cagle of NC.  Sisters: Gertrude Streeter of NC; Mary Lou Owens of CT; Clara Payne of CT,  Brothers-in-law: Gary Cole of AL; Patrick Gregory of AL;Jeremy Hood of TX.  Sisters-in-law: Shelia Cobb of CT; Janice (Lydell) Jones of TX; Anita Hinton, of AL; Carolyn Hood of AL; Champane Boyd of MI.; Marilyn Cobb of SC and Nellie Cobb of MA. 25 grands, a host of  nieces and nephews.   A mother-in-law, Annie Harris of AL.  Special friends: Tony Knight, Roy “Diddi Bop” Smith, Morris & Christ Ball, James Ward, Robby Kellum and rest on his good friend, Marrell Ward.
