John Henry Russell was born to the late Mr. Hardy Russell Sr. and the late Mrs. Cindy Wyckoff Russell on March 13. 1944.
He graduated from Laurel High School in 1963 and he joined the U. S. Air Force in Elkorne, Nebraska and served 4 years, 1963-1967.
In 1969, he married his longtime sweetheart, Karen I. Johnson and were united in Holy Matrimony for 50 years.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Russell was preceded in death by two sisters: Rochelle Ross and Geraldine Russell. Three brothers: E. Willard Russell, Willie Lee Russell and Dewey Russell.
He leaves to cherish, a loving wife, Karen Russell. 4 daughters: Tiffany Russell of Alexander City, AL, Samonna (Maxwell) Asare of Tulsa, OK, Grace Russell of Las Vegas, NV and Cindy Russell (Lowell Pratt) of Tulsa, OK. 7 grandchildren: Talia, De'ja, Camille, Caleb, Immanuel, Myanna and Leela. 3 brothers: Hardy (Lanese) Russell, Jr, of Deatsville, AL, Charles Russell of TX, and Anthony Russell of VA. 6 sisters: Brenda Russell of Dothan, AL, Phyllis (Michael) Frazier of Alexander City, AL, Andrea Graham of Dothan, AL, Cynthia Russell of Savannah, GA. Lori (Kevin) McMichael of Sumter, SC and Felecia Smith of Dothan, AL A host of other relatives and friends.
