Mr. John W. McCoy

Mr. John W. McCoy was born on April 26, 1948 in Coosa County Alabama to the late LV McKinney and Emma Lou Jordan. He departed this life Monday, December 24, 2018.

John McCoy was united in Holy Matrimony to Juanita Harrell McCoy. To this union seven children were born.

John was a humble and hardworking husband and father. He was a painter at Madix in Goodwater, AL for over 40 years until his retirement.

Mr. McCoy was a former member of St James Missionary Church and later joined Paradise Mission Full Gospel until his passing. While in good health, he enjoyed walking and spending time with his family and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents LV McKinney and Emma Lou Jordan, step father; Robert Louis Leonard, brother; Joseph Strong and sister, Susan McKinney.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted and loving wife of 48 years, Juanita McCoy. Daughters: Jennifer McCoy of Goodwater, AL; Juamina (Greg) Buckner and Laquita McCoy of Alexander City, AL; Shonnoh McCoy of Lincoln, AL. Son(s): Jeffery (Eltha) McCoy and John T (Tonja) McCoy of Goodwater, AL; Jermaine (Diane) McCoy of Alexander City, AL. Brothers: Charles (Linda) McKinney of Goodwater, AL and Oliver (Shirley) Jennings of Rockford, AL. Sister: Juanita Garrett of Biloxi, MS. Aunts: Joe Ann Gaddis, Patricia Scott and Annie McKinney all of Goodwater, AL. Uncle: Willie Charles (Ceola) McCoy of Seattle, WA. Eighteen grandchildren, Twenty-five great-grandchildren, four brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. God-mother: Bessie Lee Spivey and God-Daughter: T Sherry Smith. Special friends: William Strong, Annie Lee Russell and Nick Whetstone.
