Welcome to the memorial page for

Mitchell Parker

August 5, 1934 ~ October 4, 2017 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Mitchell Parker was born on August 5, 1934 in Ourtown, Alabama to the late Early Parker and Mary Russell.

He confessed and accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour at an early age and was baptized at Mt Calvary Baptist Church of Alexander City. He continued to embrace Christ at Friendship Baptist Church as a devout Deacon where his wife was a member. Mitchell was educated in the Alexander City Public School System. He retired from Piggly Wiggly Supermarket after dedicating 36 years of service as a Butcher.

Mitchell was joined in holy matrimony to Josephine Lewis on June 4, 1955, his devoted wife of 62 years. His life was a living testimony of his strong belief in God. His passion to worship God was shown each day he lived and having fought the good fight of faith with his wife at his side, Mitchell went to his heavenly home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

He leaves a devoted family to cherish and hold close to their hearts many beautiful memories. He leaves a devoted wife of 62 years, Mrs. Josephine Lewis Parker. To this union five children were born; one son Robert (Marilyn) Parker of Alexander City, AL; four daughters, Jossie Chapman of Goodwater, Alabama, Brenda Spradley of Alexander City, Pauline Parker of Birmingham, AL, and Evelyn (Greg) Tuscaloosa, AL; two sisters, Mather Phillips of Alexander City, and Lareatha Bellamy of Chattahoochee, Florida, three granddaughters (Synethia Spradley, Tanisha Parker, Brittney Spradley) four grandsons (Skavious Chapman, Anthony Buchanan, Nardo Chapman, Justin Parker) seventeen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and a church family whose lives have been blessed by having known and loved him.
